The contest begins March 24, 2008. Entries must be
received by May 16, 2008
and post marked by
May 16, 2008. A Chukchi Consortium Library panel,
whose decisions are final on
all matters relating
to this contest, will judge all eligible entries. Entries
that fail to conform to these rules may be disqualified.
The winner will be announced by May 22, 2008.
Chukchi Consortium Library will publicly recognize
the contest winner. The prize will be awarded to the winner
for the selection of their artwork. Appreciation awards will be given to all
participating artists as well.
This contest is open to all residents of the NANA region.
The winning artist will be notified by e-mail or telephone by May 22, 2008.
By participating in this contest, all participants,
if selected as the winner, grant the Chukchi Consortium Library
permission to use their name, photograph, voice and biographical information for promotional purposes
in radio, Internet, and print advertising without further compensation or
notice, except where prohibited by law.
By participating in this contest, the winner agrees to transfer rights of their
artwork to Chukchi Consortium Library
allowing Chukchi Consortium Library to reproduce, distribute, display, and
modify the artwork as appropriate
specifically for the Library Card Art Project. All artwork remains the
property of the artist. However,
Chukchi Consortium Library will retain rights to the winning entry specifically
for new library card purposes.
Furthermore, all participants, by submitting their entries, represent that their
entries are original and do not violate
the rights of any other person or entity, including intellectual property
rights.
The contest will be governed by these rules. By
participating in this contest, all participants agree to be bound by
these rules and the decisions of the Chukchi Consortium Library, whose decisions
are final on all matters relating
to this contest.
Chukchi Consortium Library is not responsible for:
(i) lost, misdirected, misplaced, illegible, unintelligible, incomplete,
or late entries or (ii) any act, failure to act, or delay regarding the
transmitting or processing of entries.
By participating in the contest, you agree to
release and hold harmless Chukchi Consortium Library and its employees,
affiliates, and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages,
injuries, claims, causes of actions, or
losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including
infringement of intellectual property rights.
Chukchi Consortium Library and its employees, affiliates, and advertising and
promotional agencies assume no
responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of
actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or
in part from this contest.
