

Email set-up - Email is an important communication tool for your class. Each of the main units of the University of Alaska (UAA, UAF, and UAS) use a different email program. Detailed steps for setting up your UAF email account are outlined below, including information for new and returning students.

First Time UAF Students -
- Go to Account LookUp
- Fill in your Social Security number (9 digits).
- Enter a password twice and then write down a clue to the password.
- If you want to use a personal email address, enter it into the E-mail forward textbox.
- Answer the questions yes and click “Look Up My Account”.
- You will be given your Campus User Name, write it down.
- Go to UAF Webmail at: http://webmail.uaf.edu/
- Enter your Campus User Name in the Name box.
- Enter your UA Email Password in the password box.
- If you prfer to use a personal email address for class (rather than UAF Email),
- Click on the “Usermin” link on the page above
- Fill in you Campus User Name for the email username.
- Fill in your campus username and UA email password.
- In Usermin, click on the “Mail” and “Mail Forwarding” buttons.
- Check “yes” and provide your personal email address in the “forward to” box.
- Click the “save: button. Be sure to log out.
Returning Students -
- Go to UAF Webmail at: http://webmail.uaf.edu/
- Enter your Campus User Name in the Name box,
- Enter your UA Email Password in the password textbox.
- If you prefer to use a personal email address for class (rather than UAF Email),
- Click on the “Usermin” link on the page above.
- Fill in you Campus User Name for the email username.
- Fill in your campus username and UA email password.
- In Usermin, click on the “Mail” and “Mail Forwarding” buttons.
- Check “yes” and provide your personal email address in the “forward to” box.
- Click the “save” button. Be sure to log out.
PASSWORD HELP - Contact the UAF HelpDesk if you need your password reset at 800-478-4667.
